Today, unfortunately, the biggest value in society is income. Spending is the big-
gest concern of our society. This way of living has much deeper consequences
in changing ourselves from the roots. It made us reach only for materialistic,
temporary pleasures and individuality, which led to separation from sociality
through constant fighting and competing with others. It’s become a global
phenomenon copying famous and rich people. It’s become »normal« for the
middle class to buy unnecessary expensive things trying to reach their idols. This
unquenching thirst is fed by constant commercials which give the »recipe of
joy and perfect life«. Unfortunately, this style of living and state of mind of the
majority is the reason people value other people only by how much they own,
in which case there is no place in our society for homeless. For one to see and
react to the distress of others, means that he would have to maybe just for a
second, lose the site of his income and his needs in order to do that. Which
would, in the end, make him a much better person.
