Created amid a corruption scandal — a nobleman wanting to sell land on Buda Side for a fortune . Traffic bridge ; hardly any people walking across it . White , sparse , collapsing . Connects the main road under Buda Castle with the main shopping district in Budapest . Despite this mainly used for traffic and is noisy .
Used to be used for trams but is now too weak to hold up the extra weight . Used to be beautiful before it was destroyed in the war , named after Princess Elizabeth of whom there is a statue situated on the Buda side . Destroyed at the end of WWII and never restored to its original design .
