Oliver Rousteing, creative director of Balmain announced his concern "As a French person, I was not expecting this in my country, it's a really scary situation. I would never want to see my country divided by extremism."

French Elle magazine also shared a special 'Je Suis Charlie' tribute cover on their Twitter page. The cartoon was created by Soledad Bravi and features a white dove, instead of carrying an olive branch, the bird carries a pencil. The cover also features the words 'Je Suis Charlie'. Eight magazine staff were amongst those who were killed in the attack and a special 'Survivors edition' of Charlie Hebdo magazine was released and all three million copies were sold instantly.

The attack on Paris has shattered not only the lives of the victims, but citizens of the country whom were proud to be French.. Fashion has always been an industry which requires freedom and it's not surprising that French designers have been affected by the incidents and have made their voice heard. ▪
