Jourdan

Dunn

Jourdan Sherise Dunn is at the tender age of just 24. She has gained herself one of the top spots in British modelling and often appears at shows including the likes of Burberry, Moschino and even the Victoria Secret show.

Born and raised in West London, Dunn soon became aware of her different body image to the other girls that she hung around with at school. She was tall and skinny, and for a girl of her ethnicity, was aware that her peers were very different from herself. Dunn revealed at Vogue Festival 2014, in a talk with Edie Campbell, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley and Karlie Kloss how her difference in appearance meant she was subject to bullying and as a result obtained low self-esteem and confidence despite being told by others she should be a model. The model showed an interest in the modelling industry, from watching shows such as 'America's Next Top Model' but knew little about what the industry really and to offer.

In 2006, Dunn was spotted by Storm Modelling Agency, whom took a shine to the then 15-year-old as she shopped in Hammersmith’s Primark with a friend. The following year, saw the newly-born model make her mark in the Marc Jacobs and Polo Ralph Lauren Fall 2007 shows and also bagged herself a place in British Vogue's list of 'New Stars' that same year.

Jourdan soon became a great asset to the modelling industry. With her ethnic background and morals, she soon became an advocate for all ethnic women within the fashion industry. Photographer Steven Miesel also took a shine to the model and gave her the role of cover star for his ethnic themed shoot for Vogue Italia, which was an issue devoted to black models, also in 2007

Dunn became pregnant with her first child at the age of 19. She continued to work in the industry until she was 6 months pregnant. The model was seen at Jean Paul Gaultier's Sring/Summer 2010 show with a baby bump. The model returned to work ten weeks after giving birth, ready for the London Fashion Week winter >
