Dress Code for Kindergarten through Grade 12

Shirts : Polo shirts ( required even under sweaters and jumpers ; not required only on P . E . days ) Long or short-sleeved White , LIGHT yellow or LIGHT blue ( plain w / no logo ) Note : Seniors are allowed to wear any solid color polo .
Skirts : Solid , plain ( non-decorative ) navy skirts that reach the crease of the back of the knee ; slits that reach higher are not permitted . Skirts any shorter are not permitted at any time or for any reason ; since skorts are specifically designed to be short , they are not usually long enough for our dress code . Navy uniform-style jumpers may be worn as an alternate choice through Grade 5 . ( Please note that former plaid skirts are no longer permitted .)
Pants : Solid , plain ( non-decorative ), uniform-style navy pants ; capri-length is permitted
Shorts : Solid , plain ( non-decorative ), uniform-style navy shorts are permitted ; they may not rest in the standing position higher than 3 inches above the crease of the back of the knee .
Tights / Leggings : Tights or leggings worn with skirts , shorts , or capris must be solid navy blue , white , or gray . Black is also permissible . Multi-colored designs are not permitted . Tights / leggings are not to be used to eliminate the need for skirts / jumpers to meet the required length ( as described previously ).
Sweaters : Solid-colored sweaters , fleece , or sweatshirt with no design may be worn ( solid navy , white , or gray ); they may button , zip , or be crewneck in style .
Hoodies : Solid-colored , full-zip-up only hoodies ( solid navy , white , or gray ) may be worn . Uniform-approved hoodies and fleece with print are also permitted , which are available for purchase through the PTFA . Pullover hoodies are not permitted . Polo shirt collar must be visible , as it is a part of the daily dress code .

Modesty / Neatness Notes

1 . Necklines no lower than straight across from the top of one armpit to the other 2 . No undergarments or midriffs may be visible ( including camis , colors / patterns / print seen through the dress code shirt ) at any time ( except at the neckline ). 3 . Leggings may be worn in the same manner as stockings , but they are not a substitute for the length requirement of skirts / skorts / shorts .
4 . Pants and skirts may not be worn “ tightly .” For the sake of establishing an objective standard for determining “ how tight is too tight ,” a quarter ( coin ) should be able to easily drop to the floor in the space between one ’ s clothing and leg . 5 . Skirts , skorts , and jumpers must reach the crease of the back of the knee . 6 . Shorts must rest in the standing position no higher than 3 inches above the crease of the back of the knee .

Uniformity Notes

1 . Official team warm-up jackets may be worn by students who have played on a school sports team ( past or present ).
2 . Students may not wear outdoor coats to class . The dress code permits enough layers that should be sufficient to accommodate the fluctuating temperatures in the school ’ s buildings .
3 . Students may wear socks of their choosing ( color and style , but with acceptable images if present ), which allows for an element of individuality .
