The DreamSF Fellowship has evolved over the years to become a nationally recognized , deeply inclusive model that creates safe spaces for all participants and their identities . Each cohort has a diverse composition of individuals and lived experiences which are molded into a collective experience and space that empower self discovery , identity exploration and team building . The program ’ s success relies on mutual commitment and investment from fellows , host organization supervisors , and the program coordinator .
The DreamSF Fellowship maintains an intentional model aimed at providing comprehensive support and resources to enable the success , opportunities and growth of each fellow and the cohort as a collective . These support features include pairing fellows with an alumni mentor , access to immigration representation and screenings through an annual clinic , weekly leadership and professional development seminars tailored to undocumented experiences and needs , individual check-ins and consultations with the program coordinator , and community service opportunities at events and workshops that help immigrants .
The program is expertly led with deep care by a directly impacted coordinator with lived experience and immigrant youth development expertise , and receives organizational support from OCEIA ’ s committed staff .
The DreamSF Fellowship continues to grow and strengthen through its iterations and with the help of routine program assessments , participant feedback , and innovative approaches . As the program reaches a decade and continues to move forward , it remains committed to creating pathways for long term economic self sufficiency and abundance through building of pipelines , platforms and tools for fellows to leverage long after their fellowship term ends .
