"Mars. A Puzzling Planet"
The students were presented with the theme of life on
Mars. We decided to cut a large piece of red material,
because Mars can be referred to as the "Red Planet", into
irregularly shaped pieces to resemble a puzzle. Each
student was given a piece of the puzzle, so to speak, and
asked to paint their idea of "Life on Mars." The pieces were
reassemble and glued to a mostly black and printed piece
of cloth.

"My Martian Family Album"
This 4th grade artwork is about the student's idea of what
they think the inhabitants of Mars might look like.
The students used styrofoam boards to draw into and rolled
printing ink on the plates. Then the students pressed this
inked plate onto cloth.
Did you enjoy this project? Yes, the group thoroughly
enjoyed working on this project. We even carried it to
another step & created hand painted pictures of the 'Mars
Life' we created in print. We will display our hand painted
pictures in our school and use it to express an art idea for
our new STEAM School Curriculum.
