"The Dream Rocket Project has a center core presentation that allows for specific themes to be explored in light of the project as a whole. The focus in my approach has been that art is being used as a vehicle to explore topics, many of which relate to the Saturn V rocket in direct and indirect path ways. With this approach, all subject areas have been part of the work done by students at Tesseract.

Science was a core foundation as NASA documentations on the rocket were supplied through participation. Understanding the key and critical role of the Saturn V rocket in exploration, applied mathematics, cultural significance, leadership applications of science and a nation, language arts, inventors and other suggested themes allowed students to see the reason behind wrapping their work based on various topics around the rocket. A continued focus was to see the relationship between themes and the art panels created."

In 2008, a group of educators and artists formed the International Fiber Collaborative (IFC), a non-profit organization with a mission to create deeper learning experiences through art, collaboration and cross-curricular themed programming for individuals and their communities. IFC’s current initiative, the Dream Rocket Project (DRP), which was launched in 2009, is collecting 8,000 pieces of artwork that in 2015 will be stitched together to wrap a 363-foot Saturn V Moon Rocket replica at the U.S. Space & Rocket Center in Huntsville, Alabama for a temporary exhibition. The Saturn V rocket is 60 feet taller than the Statue of Liberty.
