destructive and violent ways, one might think that some sort of military unit might be able to step in and finally bring the rogue soldiers to a halt. And yet, that’s where this conflict takes a twist for the worst. Recent reports have found that the Rwandan military is actually backing the M23, and in the words of David Bekele, “Not only is Rwanda allowing its territory to be used by the abusive M23 to get recruits and equipment, but the Rwandan military is still directly supporting the M23.” With an entire military force willingly behind this threat to the people of Congo, my question is this: will these innocent people ever find a sense of security, and more importantly, if they do, who will ensure this? (DR Congo: M23 Rebels Kill, Rape Civilians).
