Header flames pop out of the nitro-injected JEGS . com A / Fuel dragster driven by Mike Coughlin during an evening qualifying session at the Cavalcade of Stars NHRA North Central divisional race . Coughlin qualified No . 1 with a booming 5.18 at 281.71 MPH in the McPhillips family ’ s dragster before bowing out with a tire-smoking run in the semifinals . Going into the second half of the season , Coughlin is fifth in national points and leading the North Central Region points standings .
