CALM BEFORE THE STORM
Erica Enders says a prayer and takes a deep breath before strapping on a helmet to make a pass in Jim Cunningham ’ s Ford Mustang Pro Stock entry at the inaugural NHRA Four-Wide Nationals . Enders was two years away from becoming the first woman to win in NHRA Pro Stock ( in July 2012 ), setting in motion a string of accomplishments that includes four world championships and 36 event wins … and counting . That win list includes multiple victories in four-wide competition , including backto-back wins at the Four-Wide Nationals in Las Vegas , where she ’ s now the winningest pro driver .
