WILD WILLYS
Few , if any , tracks in the Southeast hosted more Quick-8 Pro Mod races than North Carolina ’ s Farmington Dragway . From the boom years of the 1990s until around 2010 and slightly beyond , Farmington hosted some of the best Quick-8 races ever . Farmington was one of the original tracks of Don Plemmons ’ Quick-8 Racers Association . Among my all-time favorite cars to shoot at these races was the fat-fendered 1940 Willys of West Virginia ’ s Kenny Rucker . This car was a crowd pleaser and it was thrilling to photograph . – VAN ABERNETHY
