THE SORCERER STRIKES
Maryland natives Fredy Scriba ( near lane ) and Chuck Ulsch launch off the Maryland International Raceway starting line as a late summer thunderstorm approaches the revered East Coast track . In the final round of Northeast Outlaw Pro Mod Association competition , Ulsch left first in his supercharged Line-X ‘ 68 Camaro , but Scriba pulled ahead before the eighth-mile finish line and scored the win in his nitrous-fed “ Sorcerer ” ‘ 69 Camaro . Scriba ’ s Musi-powered , Bickel-built hot rod recorded a 3.733 at 202.91 , while Ulsch was just . 0021 seconds behind him with a 3.757 at 201.07 . Moments after running the final round , a downpour soaked the track .
