It ’ s a robust schedule with tracks that are popular with racers and fans alike . All the tracks on the schedule are expected to allow spectators in some capacity , with 100 % capacity at some locations .
“ What I ’ m really excited for is to race in front of spectators again and put on a hell of a show ,” Pluchino says . “ With limited or no fans at the events last year , it really makes you appreciate their attendance . It ’ s just a totally different vibe .”
For defending Switzer Dynamics Pro Nitrous world champion Jim Halsey , the thought of merely getting

started on his second championship defense season is exciting enough . Knowing he ’ ll get to race in the Northeast twice is an added benefit for the Maryland native .
“ The first race of the year is always pretty exciting ,” says Halsey , who won the title in 2019 and 2020 . “ I like all the races . Being close to home at Budds Creek and Maple Grove will be nice . But I want a repeat . I want a three peat .”
Pro Nitrous , Pro Boost , Extreme Pro Stock , $ hameless Racing Pro Outlaw 632 , MagnaFuel Top Sportsman , Lucas Oil Top Dragster , Coolshirt Pro Jr . Dragster , Classic Graphix Top Jr . Dragster , and Edelbrock Bracket Bash presented by COMP Cams will be contested at all eight races , while Drag 965 Pro Nitrous Motorcycle will sit out the Bowling Green and Maple Grove races .
Drag 965 Pro Street , which will follow a new rules package this season , will race at six of the eight

races , missing the Bowling Green and second GALOT races . The new rules package was crafted with the intention of bringing back Outlaw 10.5-style racing , with the 2021 rules limiting the max tire size to 33x10.5W and prohibiting radial tires . Outlaw 10.5 hitters like Jesse Lambert , Nick Agostino and Tim Essick are expected to participate .
Pro Boost is also rolling into the 2021 season with a revised rulebook . The biggest change is the addition of the screw-type supercharger to the list of power adders , joining roots superchargers , centrifugal superchargers and turbochargers . Drivers like Kurt Steding and Jerico Balduf have made the switch over to the screw blower from the roots combination over the winter . Preston Tanner , who won the 2015 PDRA Pro Jr . Dragster championship , is making the move up to Pro Boost with a screw-blown Corvette . The newly legal combination also opens up the class to

teams in other series that use the screw blower combo .
Before the race for the 2021 PDRA world championships begins , the series will celebrate its 2020 champions at a prerace championship banquet before the East Coast Nationals . Since the cancellation of the 2020 PRI Show in Indianapolis prevented the series from holding its usual banquet in December , the PDRA will officially crown its champions on Thursday night , April 8 , at The Barn at Broadslab Distillery , located just a few minutes from GALOT Motorsports Park .
Along with Halsey and Pluchino , the PDRA defending world champions are John Strickland in Pro Boost , Wes Distefano in Pro Outlaw 632 , Travis Davis in Pro Nitrous Motorcycle , Buddy Perkinson in Elite Top Sportsman , Steve Furr in Elite Top Dragster , Stacy Hall in Top Sportsman , Kendall Payne in Top Dragster , Nyck Shirkey in Pro Jr . Dragster and Alyssa Rabon in Top Jr . Dragster .
