Hall ran in the 3.70s three more times in eliminations , capping off race day with a 3.784 at 197.42 over Jeff Miller ’ s 3.815 in the original “ Bumblebee ” Camaro .

Paul Gargus Wins Limited Drag Radial � When low qualifier and world record holder Justin Cyrnek bowed out in the second round , the rest of the Limited Drag Radial class saw an opportunity to move in on the all-important event win . It was Paul Gargus who took advantage of the opportunity , as he drove Scott Tidwell ’ s turbocharged ’ 69 Camaro to victory . Tuned by Steve Petty , Gargus recorded his quickest pass of the day , a 4.063 at 189.12 , to beat Tim Dutton and his 4.076 in the final round .
7 . Ron Rhodes Adds Another X275 Win � Racing out of the No . 4 spot , Delaware ’ s Ron Rhodes sailed through the first two rounds of X275 competition unopposed , as his opponents broke . But from round three on , Rhodes had his nitrous-fed , small-block powered ’ 68 Camaro on kill . He picked up in . 030 increments , running a 4.294 in round three , a 4.267 in the semifinals , and a 4.235 to defeat Eric LaFerriere and his unique 2JZ-powered Nissan in the final round .
8 . Shawn Pevlor Shows Off in DXP Street � Unsurprisingly , Shawn Pevlor ran the table in DXP Street , one of Long ’ s newer classes that provides a more budget-friendly playing field for smalltire competitors . Pevlor dropped a class-record 4.877 to qualify No . 1 in John Kolivas ’ small-block Fox body Mustang . The 2020 NMCA Street Outlaw world champion found his sweet spot in the 4.90s through eliminations , closing with a 4.919 over a red-lighting Jonathan Insley in the final round .

Justin Cyrnek Lowers LDR Record � Driving his twin-turbocharged “ Orange Theory ” ’ 04 Mustang , Justin Cyrnek fired off a 3.95-second pass at 191.95 during qualifying to set the new Limited Drag Radial record . Cyrnek and tuner Steve Summers previously set the record with a 3.97 en route to victory at the U . S . Street Nationals

at Bradenton a few weeks prior , then lowered that record to a 3.967 at Lights Out before going 3.95 flat . The Illinois driver was stopped in the second round by Chad Henderson , who used a holeshot advantage and a 4.119 to beat Cyrnek ’ s 4.107 .
10 . Jason Riley Thrives on 235s � Racing on ultra-skinny Mickey Thompson
235 radial tires , Jason Riley qualified No . 2 with a 5.012 in his ProCharger-boosted , small-block Ford-powered Mustang and stayed hot through eliminations , racing into the final round . He was tardy on the starting line , allowing opponent Michael Jordan to get a sizable holeshot advantage , but Riley drove around Jordan to win with a 5.11 over Jordan ’ s 5.34 . DI
