Brad Frederick launches his 1962 Ford Falcon from the starting line of SRCA Drag Strip during a
recent NHRA Lucas Oil Division 5 event. Frederick is a lifelong Nebraska native who was a junior
in high school nearly three decades ago when he acquired the Falcon as a stock street car. By
his senior year his buddies persuaded him to outfit the car with a V8 and things just snowballed
from there. He began racing the car at his local Kearney Raceway Park in 1993, and still has a
copy of the check from his first win the following year. These days his classy Falcon sports a 618ci
big-block Ford and is a regular competitor in Super Street at NHRA Lucas Oil divisional meets.
