MANNY BUGINGA
■
GOING INTO the X275 final round, Manny
Buginga and his turbocharged “Big Red”
’03 Ford Mustang Cobra had a couple hun-
dredths on Charles Hull and his Georgia-based
Mustang. Still, Buginga got up on the wheel
and used a holeshot advantage to stay ahead of
Hull’s 4.409 at 163.08 with a 4.416 at 160.92
in his Jamie Miller-tuned, DiSomma-powered
ride in the final round.

loaded field with a string of high-4.6-second
passes. The turbocharged, KBX-powered entry
ran a 4.672 at 156.32 in the final round, while

IT WAS HARD to bet against Alabama’s
Shane Stack, who earned his third consec-
utive Lights Out victory in Limited Drag Radial
when he fired off a 4.118 at 180.86 over Chad Hen-
derson’s 4.352 in the final round. Stack’s “Thrill-
billy” ’86 Monte Carlo was deadly consistent with
its 4.1-second passes, displaying how and why
Stack won the 2018 LDR season championship.

NO. 2 QUALIFIER Jason Anderson was on
pace to earn the DXP 235 win after consis-
tently running in the low 5s through eliminations,
but an .056 red light in the final round stopped
him in his tracks. Danny Niceley, the No. 3 qual-
ifier, took advantage and sailed on to a 5.497 at
131.42 in his 2000 Corvette to collect the win.
