“THE GUYS WORKED
THEIR BUTTS OFF
IN TESTING,”
RIVENBARK SAID. “WE
CHANGED FOUR-LINK,
SHOCKS, EVERYTHING
TO TRY TO GET THE CAR
WORKING THE WAY
THEY WANTED IT TO.”
how much blowers cost, even if you
have the best blower out there. I think
this is something you can buy right
off the shelf and be competitive, which
makes it good for a lot of people.
“The FuelTech pretty much runs ev-
erything: ignition, electronic fuel
injection, the data logger. FuelTech
is the car. It controls everything,”
Rivenbark added. “I had put it on the
new Camaro that we had. It seemed
to me to be the way of the future.
Those guys are great to work with
and it’s user-friendly. I think it’s the
simplest system for anyone out there
who’s scared of digital and comput-
ers and electronic fuel injection.”
Beyond the mechanical advan-
tages of his new arrangement for
2019, Rivenbark was thrilled with
how quickly the team dynamic
came together.
“It was a smooth week,” Rivenbark
said. “The guys welcomed me into
the camp and we went to work and
everything just jelled. They’ve all
been working with Petty for a while,
so that helps. The biggest thing is
me catching up driving with them.”
Rivenbark was quick to point out the
true team effort that led to a promis-
ing start to the season, one that he
hopes to continue when the 2019
PDRA season kicks off at the East Coast
Nationals presented by FuelTech at
GALOT Motorsports Park, April 5-6.
“We’re doing this with the support
of ProCharger, FuelTech, Pro Line
and M&M Transmissions – it’s defi-
nitely a combination of everything
on the car,” Rivenbark said. “Thanks
also to Mr. (Earl) Wells for supporting
us and giving us what we need to
do what we do.”
