While Harvey ’ s success in pro-level doorslammer racing is well-known , the Elon , North Carolina-native is quick to admit that he ’ s every bit as passionate about driving and racing his rear-engine dragster on the big money bracket scene . “ Some people don ’ t really understand that , honestly , bracket racing is every bit as tough if not tougher than racing in a class like Pro Nitrous ,” says Harvey . “ I go to these $ 50,000-to-win bracket races and you might lose by two-thousandthsof-a-second . I ’ ll have a ten-thousandths package and I ’ ll lose to an eighththousandths package . Every guy there is a hitter , and there ’ s sometimes 400- 500 cars there – the last race I went to it took 10 rounds to win the race .”
