Joe Morrison wheels Rocky Pirrone and Al Liebmann’s period-correct
replica of the original “Super Camaro” Nitro Funny Car across the
starting line with the mammoth Goodyears under the ’70 Camaro
body boiling. Originally owned and piloted by the late Perry Wyatt,
the “Super Camaro” is part of a four-car match-race series along
with Pirrone, Bobby Toth and Jim Gifford. Guaranteeing long, smoky
burnouts, dry hops and sky-high header flames, the “Nitro Funny Car
Showdown” is amongst drag racing’s best booked-in shows in 2016.
