Named one of NHRA’s 50 greatest drivers during their 50th anniversary celebration in 2001 (No. 42), Rampy, a resident of Piedmont, Alabama, has a staggering 91 wins to his credit, believes NHRA is “doing everything they can to keep the class around.” But he understands that the numbers aren’t looking good. “I’ve said before that I truly believe NHRA doesn’t want to shit-can the class, but I can’t help but wonder if it’s just run its course. It doesn’t look good.” Issue 110
