Documentation: The Rater will collect third-party documentation that verifies that the insulation meets Section 01350 Residential Standard.
INTENT To reduce indoor air pollution from emissions of VOCs in insulating materials.

INSULATION THAT DOES NOT CONTAIN FIRE RETARDANTS
CRITERIA FOR QUALIFICATION
Two points of credit are available for homes that use insulation with no halogenated flame retardants and no plastic foam insulation products( with the exception of exterior insulation installed over sheathing such as OSB or plywood), as follows:
F3.1. Walls and Floors( 1 Point) F3.2. Ceilings( 1 Point)
VERIFICATION
Field Verification: The Rater will conduct field compliance verification and take photos of insulated walls to confirm that no plastic foam insulation was installed.
INTENT
To improve the indoor environment by eliminating potentially dangerous or toxic chemicals from the insulation.
