Test for radon after construction. This test can occur prior to occupancy or after occupancy. The test must be completed by a Certified Tester as identified on the CDPH website. If the test results are greater than 4 picocuries per liter( pCi / L), install a continuously fan for active depressurization.

Field Verification: The Rater must verify that the building design and specifications include radon-resistant construction materials and techniques at the foundation, frame, and finish stages of construction. If the radon test results are greater than 4 pCi / L, the Rater must verify the installation of the active depressurization system and obtain photos of the continuously operating fan.
Documentation: The Rater must collect the following:

FOUNDATION DRAINAGE SYSTEM
CRITERIA FOR QUALIFICATION Two points of credit may be given for a foundation drainage system that meets all of the following criteria:

The system is specified in the building plans A perimeter drain is installed on all footings. The perimeter drain must meet all of the following criteria:
– The bottom of the perforated pipe must be installed below the level of the basement floor or crawlspace slab, and the top of the pipe must not be more than six inches above the top of the footing.
– The pipe must be wrapped with filter fabric and surrounded with a prescribed minimum of clean gravel, crushed stone, or recycled aggregate extending 12 inches beyond the edge of the footing.
– Drainage must discharge by gravity or mechanical means into an approved drainage system.
– All outfalls must tie into the storm drain or be at least 10 feet away from the foundation.

� A waterproof membrane must cover all foundation walls. � A deliberate, ventilated drainage panel must be installed on the exterior of all foundation walls.
Note: A standard French drain drainage system does not meet the requirements of this measure.
VERIFICATION
Plan Review: The Rater must confirm that the building plans and / or specifications describe an exceptional drainage system that meets all criteria.
