Finishes
This measure evaluates cabinets of the type found in kitchens and bathrooms. This differs from the shelving discussed in measure 0, which evaluates open shelving typically seen in a closet, hall, utility room, or study. Such shelving is typically encased in an open cabinet box or seated on a ledger board. Shelves found in kitchens and bathrooms are included in this measure. For multifamily projects, points are awarded for complying components in non-residential ancillary spaces. K4.2. Interior Trim (Up to 2 Points)
To receive credit, at least 10% of the total square foot area or linear length of the trim/casing must meet one defined attribute. This measure includes all types of installed casing and trim for floors, doors, walls, ceilings, windows, wainscot, fireplaces, non-structural beams, etc. For multifamily projects, points are awarded for complying components in non-residential ancillary spaces. K4.3. Shelving (Up to 2 Points)
To receive credit, at least 10% of the total square foot area or linear length of the shelving, support structure, and encasement must meet one defined attribute. Steel or aluminum wire shelving does not quality. To receive credit, at least 10% of the total square footage or volume of qualifying countertops and substrate assembly must meet one defined attribute. VERIFICATION Field Verification: The Rater may complete field verification of installed materials. Documentation: The Rater must collect material specifications that the material meets environmental criteria, and the use and percentage of installed material.
