Recycled-content lumber must contain at least 50% recycled content for the plastic portion. Post-industrial (pre-consumer) recycled content is counted at half the rate of post-consumer recycled content. This measure does not apply to decks or fencing, paving, driveways, or other permeable paving. This measure applies to hardscapes, pathways, patios, and other landscape features including fences, edging, benches, planting beds, and walls. C11.2. Play Structures and Surfaces Have an Average Recycled Content ? 20% (1 Point) Note: This measure applies to multifamily projects only. Play structures and surfaces shall have an overall average recycled content greater than 20%, based on volume or weight. Surface area includes all surface area in the immediate play area, not just within the fall zone surrounding the structure itself. VERIFICATION Field Verification: The Rater will conduct field compliance verification to confirm installation of complying materials. Documentation: The Rater will collect builder’s documentation (such as invoices or cut sheets), including a simple spreadsheet analysis of materials used and percentage calculations that show compliance. INTENT To promote recycling efforts. To reduce pressure on landfills and the need to harvest new resources.
C12. EXTERIOR LIGHTING
CRITERIA FOR QUALIFICATION Up to two points of credit are available as follows: C12.1. Reduced Light Pollution (1 Point) Shield all fixtures and directing light downward. All of the following should be met: The shielding must not cause dark sky light pollution by allowing light to shine above the horizontal plane. Exterior lights shall not cause light trespass by spilling significantly onto neighboring properties. A bare lamp bulb must not be visible at the property line when viewed at a maximum elevation of 5 feet or at a distance of more than 14 feet into an adjacent property when viewed at ground level. All unshielded fixtures that let light escape skyward or trespass on neighboring properties, such as floodlights, should be eliminated, as they do not qualify for this measure. Landscape lighting that points upward shall not be allowed. C12.2. High Efficacy Site Lighting (1 Point) Specify high efficacy fixtures as defined by the Title 24 2013 Non-Residential Standard.
