DQ MUSE Term 1, 2014 | Page 11

That all sounds like a great opportunity! What’s the production in January all about? Is that during the school holidays?

RB: The 30 students come back for a week-long intensive rehearsal period – with the outcome being a fully-realised Shakespeare production on the Powerhouse Stage – they get full set, costume, staging and lighting for the show. Check out the production pics from The Tempest on the website: www.qldshakefest.com.au I was so proud of the company members, they were such professionals. They also relished the chance to work with a full crew of creatives – Josh McIntosh (Designer), Jason Glenwright (Lighting Designer), Gordon Hamilton (Music Tutor), Dan Sinclair (Stage Manager) and of course the entire shake & stir core team as Directors and Acting Mentors.

SHAKESPEARE FESTIVAL

NR: It was awesome. I love that it’s something students can work towards and strive for outside of school.

How do teachers sign up?

NR: Jump on the website and check it all out – and you can enrol there too. If you have any questions at all feel free to call me in the office: 07 3358 6025 and I’ll happily chat about it all.

Thanks so much guys! Anything else?
