Plant something
special this spring!
Garden plots are provided through the
courtesy of Commonwealth Edison and
the Des Plaines Park District. The 20’
x 20’ garden plots are located east of
Westgate Road adjacent to Terrace School
between Thacker and Miller Streets.
Plots will be plowed and made ready for
planting as of May 1, weather permitting.
In compliance with the Des Plaines Park
District policy, we ask that you do not walk
your dogs on the garden plots at any time.
No motorized vehicles are allowed on the
bike path adjacent to the garden plots.
Garden Plot Rental Registration
NEW this year, all Renters must
register In Person! Registration must
be done in-person at the Administrative
& Leisure Center, 2222 Birch Street,
Des Plaines, IL 60018. To reserve your
previous plot(s), you must bring in a photo
ID and proof of residency (i.e. utility bill).
Returning RESIDENT Renters
Registration ONLY!
Registration for Return Resident Renters
is available now through February 28th.
Returning resident renters can only rent
up to two of their previously rented plots
per household. If you would like a new
plot site, Residents will be able to register
Monday, March 10th.

background to teach you the fundamentals
of cooking, along with delicious recipes for
enjoy at home or entertain. Chef Ed has
years of experience catering wedding and
corporate events, and cooking for private
parties. These cooking classes are great for

Every Day Healthy Eating
In today’s world of fast foods, additives
such as sodium, bad fats and their effects
on our bodies, what & how do we cook
healthy? There are alternatives. Don’t miss
out on the good foods; just learn to prepare
them differently. Learn to reduce fats in
your entrée’s, and minimize sodium through
the use of delicious spices. Even desserts
can be both sumptuous as well as healthy.
There’s a Tiramisu for two, done “skinny”
but decadent. We’ll show you appetizers,
entrée’s, sides and yes, desserts!

issued on a first-come, first served basis.
Note: Proof of residency and age must be
presented in order to receive resident and
senior rates.
Non-Resident Renters
Registration for ALL non-residents begins
Monday, March 24th at 8:30am.
R: $35/NR: $45. Senior Discount: 50%
off for seniors who are 60 years or older.
Two plots maximum per household.
