Fun for Kids & Teens Little Angels at LEGO® Engineering Ages 5–7 Children just love to ‘build and break’, and that is how they build-on the storehouse of their creative energy. Working with LEGO™ Education Kits, under professional guidance, they will make working models of simple machines to learn some of the basic concepts of engineering and science. Hands-on activity develops understanding of ‘how things work’, which develops the aptitude for engineering & promotes learning in science. Min/Max: 5/12 8 weeks Technosaurus, Instructor PLCC, Meeting Room 2 Mondays, 5:30–6:15pm 1/13–3/3 R: $109/NR: $136 #455308-1 Robotic Calisthenics for Little Angels Age 6–8 Starting out with a versatile, world trotting robot ‘T Saur’ at their command doing their bidding, these robotics explorers will finally build their own simple robots with LEGO construction sets. The ‘T Saur’ will perform a variety of tasks some of which are to move in the ordered directions, solve simple math problems, draw geometry figures and colorful kaleidoscopic designs and even make music for children. Following this initiation into the science of robotics, children will go on to build simple robots using LEGO robotic kits and choosing from a variety of themes to understand basics of robotics engineering. The children will link every model that they make to the PC to program it to perform in endearing and exciting ways. Children work in pairs, with each pair having a full LEGO robotics kit and a laptop PC for working in the class. This is a great class to have fun and generate interest in direction of STEM. Min/Max: 5/12 8 weeks Technosaurus, Instructor PLCC, Meeting Room 2 Mondays, 6:30–7:30pm 1/13–3/3 R: $119/NR $148 #455307-1 Lego Innovations Lab Ages 8–12 This is an exercise in innovation and creativity in engineering for all LEGO aficionados. Participants bring to fore their Lego building skills acquired over the years experimenting and building with legos. They combine their intellect, academic learning in science and mathematics and wealth of lego-building experience to solve technology related problems based on simple working machines. Children work in pairs discussing and sharing ideas for making every model, thus boosting the sense of cooperation and team work. Finally they get an opportunity to demonstrate their honed up skills by making a working model of their own choice and presenting it to the class, while explaining its technology involved in its working. Each team of two children has complete set of Lego Engineering Kit, motor assembly and power pack to motorize the models that they make.
