This program offers training in both
technique and performance. Dancers
showcase their achievements at our annual
dance recital in June, in the beautiful Prairie
Lakes Theater in Des Plaines. All registrants
of the Performance Program are expected,
but not required, to participate in the
recital. The fees below are included in
your class registration payment.
Dance Recital Single Costume
Fee Information:
Pre-Dance: $60
Junior Level: $70
Senior Level: $80
Pre/Pointe I/II: $90
Class Placement Guidelines
(Performance Program)
Classes are divided into 3 age categories:
Pre-Dance (Ages 3–6)
Pre-Dance I – ages 3–4 (preschool).
Pre-Dance II, Teeny Bop, Mini-Modern –
ages 5–6 (Kindergarten and 1st Grade).
Junior Levels (Ages 7–14)
Jr. I – 0–3 years experience.
Jr. II – 2–4 years experience (Must have
basic knowledge of dance terminology and
execution).
Jr. III – 5+ years experience (Dancers must
have instructor’s consent. Students new to
our program will have to place in. Please
call for Placement Classes).
Senior Level (Ages 12+)
Sr. I – 0–4 years experience. Beginning/
Intermediate Level
Sr. II – Minimum of 4 years experience.
Must have in depth knowledge of dance
terminology and execution. Intermediate/
Advanced Level
Dancers must have instructor’s consent.
Students new to our program will have to
place in. Please call for Placement Classes.
Classes with Prerequisite
Pre-Pointe - Must be enrolled in an
additional ballet class (Jr. II or Sr. I or
Company Ballet).
Pointe - Must be enrolled in an additional
ballet class (Sr. I or Sr. II or Company Ballet)
and have instructor’s consent.
AMP (Artistry in Motion Performance
Company) - Must be enrolled in an
additional ballet class. Audition required.
AiM Future Stars – Must be enrolled in
one additional class (Pre-Ballet, Pre-Jazz,
Pre-Ballet/Tap, or Mini Modern).
No audition required.
Please note: The Park District reserves
the right to transfer students into a
different class that will be more suitable
to their skill level. If you have questions
regarding what level your child is qualified
for, contact the School of Dance Hotline
at 847-391-6924, prior to registration.
Performance Program
Savings Plan
• Register for 2 classes and receive a
$10 Credit
• Register for 3 classes and receive a
$15 Credit
• Register for 4 classes and receive a
$20 Credit
• Register for 5 or more classes and
receive a $25 Credit
• Must register for all Performance
classes at the same time in order to
qualify for the savings plan.
• Valid on Des Plaines School of Dance
Performance classes only. Amount will
be credited to your household account.
Registration and Payment Plans
School of Dance registration begins on
Monday, August 18 for Des Plaines Park
District residents and on Monday, August
25 for non-residents. New enrollment will
not be accepted after the 5th week of
classes (October 13).
Payment plans:
Payment plans are available. The first
of 9 payments will be due at time of
registration plus a $35 processing
fee. The other 8 payments will be
automatically deducted from your
credit or debit card on the 20th of each
month beginning in September 2014
and ending in April 2015. No payment plans
will be accepted after September 6, 2014.
To register for a payment plan:
1. Fill out a registration form and bring it to
the ALC.
2. An installment billing agreement will be
filled out and reviewed at the ALC, by a
Park District staff member.
3. Installment payments can be done
electronically via a credit or debit card.
4. A copy of the installment billing
agreement will be given to you, once it
has been approved.
