beaches are also found in Pasman, along the coast of
the Zadar Riviera, near Pula. But the real spectacle
is the rocky beaches whether it is rocks with deep
sea or stretches of white pebbles: do not miss the
Kamenjak Park near Pula, favorite destination for
divers, the Dugi Otok Stene, Rovinj and then the
spectacular stones of Dubrovnik, the Makarska
Riviera and the shingle of the island of Brac.
Visit one of its national parks: Croatia’s national
parks are the perfect place to reconnect with
nature and explore some hidden natural gems like
waterfalls, unique scenarios and relax.
Explore the historical cities: In Croatia there
are 7 UNESCO protected sites that document the
rich and turbulent past of this region, between
Roman and Byzantine conquests and a lively artistic
Renaissance. Among the places to visit there are, in
addition to the Plitvice National Park, The Diocletian
Palace complex in Split, the city of Dubrovnik with
its white walls, and the Episcopal complex of the
Basilica of St. Euphrasius in Porec. There is also, the
historical center of Trogir, the cathedral of St. James
in Sibenik and the plain of Stari Grad on the island
Hvar.
Have a sports adventure: For adrenaline lovers,
there are several possibilities: rent a jet ski and
allow yourself to evolve on the water’s surface.
Practice bungee jumping from one of the country’s
breathtaking bridges, practice windsurfing, and
kite-surfing or try rafting on the river Cetina, on the
Kupa, on the Krka.
Even kayaking in Croatia can give great satisfaction,
whether it is practiced at sea, discovering the bays,
or being practiced on one of the turbulent rivers of
the region.
Culture: Fully immersing yourself into Croatian
culture is a must and, eating like you used to do
at home, it’s a bit sad! Especially when you have
first-class fish and seafood, fresh vegetable garden
vegetables, excellent meat dishes and the chance to
experiment, to taste, to be adventurous and create
your optimal menu! You should try the Dalmatian
ham, the salted anchovies, the island Pag cheese, the
fantastic local olive oil, but also the honey, the home-
made grappa, the dried figs that you will surely
have seen to dry out at the sun (and that combined
with honey and nuts are a wonder!) and a range of
sweets fit for a king!
Conclusion: A trip to Croatia is fantastic to enjoy
all the incredible highlights this beautiful country
has to offer between history and nature for a trip to
remember.
