The Power of Vision
Eturuvie Erebor
According to Helen Keller, “The most pathetic person in the world is someone who has sight but no
vision.”
A
nd the Bible
makes it clear
that where
there is no
vision, people
perish. Samson
lost his vision in Delilah’s house
and failed to see that the growth
of his hair and return of his
strength was a second chance to
fulfil his destiny, so he prayed to
die with the Philistines.
Four important things that you
should know about your vision;
Your vision will bring you out of
poverty. Jacob lived in Laban’s
house, and after more than
fourteen years all he had to show
for his labour was two wives,
two concubines and plenty of
children. Wealth was very far
away from him, and although he
had the blessing of his father, he
was not a prosperous man. As a
matter of fact, we could describe
him as a failure. Then he had a
vision that all the animals that
were ringstraked spotted and
speckled would be his. And
even when Laban removed all
such animals from among the
herd, to frustrate his vision, he
had a plan B. He took rods of
green poplar, and of hazel and
chestnut tree and pilled white
strakes in them and placed
them before the animals when
they mated. The result was the

that were ringstraked, speckled
and spotted. The result was
tremendous wealth for Jacob;
as a matter of fact, there was a
wealth transfer between himself
and his uncle, all because of his
vision.
Your vision will keep you alive.
When you have a vision, it will
keep you alive. Paul had the
vision to preach the gospel,
and it was impossible for him
to be killed. He was stoned to
death, but death didn’t come, he
suffered a major shipwreck but
came out alive, a viper fastened
itself onto his hand, but he could
not be killed. Eventually, when
it was time for him to die, he
said he had finished the course,
meaning that his vision had
been fulfilled. Before that time,
no one and nothing could kill
him.
Your vision will bring you before
great men. Joseph had a vision,
and it brought him before one
of the greatest men in his day,
Pharaoh King of Egypt. Your
vision will take you out of the
camp of small men and bring
you before great men if you stay
committed to it.
Your vision will bring you out of
prison. Joseph had a vision, and
it brought him out of prison.
Peter, Paul, and Silas each had a
vision, and it brought them out
of prison. Nelson Mandela had
a vision, and it brought him out
of prison. Your vision has the
power to bring you out of any
prison of life that has held you
bound.
So, my parting question to you
is, do you have a vision?
