helpmate to her husband.
Let’s take a look at Proverbs
31: 10-31 and meditate on it
for a little. A wife is a woman
after God’s heart. She has a
strong relationship with God.
She confides in him and waits
in prayer for her answers. She
wakes up early in the morning
and intercedes for her family
in prayer. She’s a worshiper and meditates daily
in God’s word. She encourages her husband
with words of inspiration and love. She raises her
children according to God’s standards. She teaches
them how to pray and conduct themselves always.
She is a friend that has the character of a sister. As
a friend, she is a secret keeper and a good listener.
She prays before she gives counsel and, she is not
a gossiper. She is an encourager, and people draw
near to her. She doesn’t discuss her husband’s
business or slander his name. She walks with joy
because of her family’s well-being. She knows
her purpose in life and has great faith in God. She
works with her hands and prospers through her
gifts from God.
The husband of this type of wife adores her. He
knows that this is the woman God gave him. He
knows she covers him in prayer and unconditional
love. There is peace in his home and, his children
love him. He knows his wife is not a quarrelsome
woman and, she speaks with love in her heart. Her
husband is a provider and a protector.
She’s not afraid to be submissive to her husband.
She knows God created him to be the head of
the family. She has faith that God is guiding him

through his actions and character. This is a woman
that knows who she is in Christ.
You can be a single or married woman and possess
this character. You see, before we become wives,
we must learn how to be married to God first. We
must be a wife before a husband comes. God has
a mate just for us. But we must patiently wait on
God’s perfect timing. The man God has for us is a
spiritual man. He is a man who has a relationship
with God. His character speaks volumes about his
relationship with God.
Pray to God about the mate you’re seeking. If you’re
married, make prayer the center of your family. As
a single, keep God first in your relationships, keep
your body as a temple of God and, wait on him.
I pray that God will give you the desired mate of
your heart according to his will and in his timing.
As we wait on the lord for our mate, we must be
about God’s business. While you’re in a waiting
period, study the scriptures on marriage, and study
the definition of love in the Bible. It will give you
a good understanding of what kind of mate to
choose.
