there to the prison you will agree with me was no step forward, rather several steps backwards. However, what seemed like it would destroy him and stop his dreams from ever becoming a reality became the reason why his dreams became a reality. In prison he made the contact that would eventually bring him into his great destiny. He interpreted the dreams of Pharaoh’s butler and baker and it happened to each one exactly as he interpreted. Two years later, when Pharaoh had a dream that no one could interpret, the servant whose dream Joseph had interpreted in the prison remembered him and mentioned him to Pharaoh. Joseph was sent for and after successfully interpreting the dream and giving Pharaoh a solution to the crisis to come, he was instantly appointed Prime Minister over the land, making him second in command to the most powerful man in the world at the time. Twice, adversity pushed Joseph into his destiny and all because of his response to it. In Prison, he chose to be happy even though he had been falsely accused and jailed. Had he been angry and bitter while in prison and refused to interpret the dreams of Pharaoh’s servants would he have had his big break? The next time we are face to face with adversity, we must remember that although it appears like it has come to destroy us, it has only come to propel us into our next level of greatness (although it does not know this).
