there to the prison you will agree
with me was no step forward,
rather several steps backwards.
However, what seemed like it
would destroy him and stop his
dreams from ever becoming a
reality became the reason why his
dreams became a reality. In prison
he made the contact that would
eventually bring him into his great
destiny. He interpreted the dreams
of Pharaoh’s butler and baker and it
happened to each one exactly as he
interpreted. Two years later, when
Pharaoh had a dream that no one
could interpret, the servant whose
dream Joseph had interpreted in
the prison remembered him and
mentioned him to Pharaoh. Joseph
was sent for and after successfully
interpreting the dream and giving
Pharaoh a solution to the crisis to
come, he was instantly appointed
Prime Minister over the land,
making him second in command
to the most powerful man in the
world at the time.
Twice, adversity pushed Joseph
into his destiny and all because
of his response to it. In Prison, he
chose to be happy even though he
had been falsely accused and jailed.
Had he been angry and bitter while
in prison and refused to interpret
the dreams of Pharaoh’s servants
would he have had his big break?
The next time we are face
to face with adversity, we must
remember that although it appears
like it has come to destroy us, it has
only come to propel us into our next
level of greatness (although it does
not know this). So, let’s allow it do
just that by maintaining a positive
response.
