Construction, continued
The Vela project on 8th Street
South is still moving forward. I in-
correctly said last
quarter that con-
struction has begun,
but that was on an
apartment
build-
ing next door. As
soon as they have
10 units under con-
tract, they will start
to build, with an es-
timated 13 month
build
schedule.
They currently have
four under contract.
Prices start at $401,000, with 10%
down at contract, and a second
10% due when construction be-
gins.
The construction on the New
St Petersburg Pier continues, if
you get a chance to
see it from above,
you can really see it
moving along. The
Galaxy Hotel is also
coming along nice-
ly. Construction on
the Museum of the
American Arts of
Crafts Movement,
which is attached to
the parking garage
on Fourth Ave North,
between Third and
Fourth streets, continues. The mu-
seum is expected to open late this
year or early 2020.
- Just ask Rob!
Tami got a real treat recently -
a helicopter tour above downtown
with photographer Troy Morgan,
owner of Photos From The Air.
With all of the recent changes to
our skyline, it was time to capture
some new images. Executive He-
licopter Tours provided the ride
from Albert Whitted Airport, and
we’d highly recommend them as
well as Troy’s aerial work!
