What ’ s next ?
Now that we know that the majority of downsizers in Australia want to live in a familiar area with easy access to transport and amenities , let ’ s look at selling the family home and moving into a smaller detached home , unit , townhouse , or apartment .
The key question we often get asked is , ‘ Do we sell first , then buy ? Or do we buy first , then sell ?’
Ultimately , this decision may be a financial one . Buying first may not be an option if you don ’ t have enough cash to purchase a new property . Selling first may be the only option .
