The ambulance arrived and transported Bill to Emergency where they saved him . Some several hours later Janette also went to hospital and there they both stayed .
Bill never recovered from the stroke and never left hospital . His condition took a turn for the worse three weeks later and he passed away in hospital . Janette only lasted another three months — losing her husband of 50 + years had taken away her will to live .
Bruce has never spoken about the day he had to save his father ’ s life , but I know it affected him deeply .
