What’s next?
Now that we know that the majority of downsizers in Australia
want to live in a familiar area with easy access to transport and
amenities, let’s look at selling the family home and moving into
a smaller detached home, unit, townhouse, or apartment.
The key question we often get asked is, ‘Do we sell first, then
buy? Or do we buy first, then sell?’
Ultimately, this decision may be a financial one. Buying first may
not be an option if you don’t have enough cash to purchase a
new property. Selling first may be the only option.
