Schoodic Point Discover a Diverse and Stunning Landscape Some of our best views are in plain sight; Schoodic Point in Winter Harbor, Bad Little Falls Park in Machias, or in downtown Lubec. Others are more remote but worth the hike. Spots like the Great Wass Island Preserve with its exposed granite bedrock. Pigeon Hill Mountain in Steuben, the tallest point on the Bold Coast, boasting an ocean panoramic or Tunk Mountain near Franklin with a 360˚ view of the region. Take a swim from the crescent of sand and pebbles of Schoppe Point beach at Roque Bluffs State Park. A dip here is a delight; in summer, you can emerge from the brisk Gulf of Maine and moments later hop into a sun-warmed freshwater pond. Stop off at the nearly 30 miles of Cutler Coast Trails, where meadows, cobblestone beaches, and steep rocky cliffs show yet another bold side of the coast.
