BUSINESS SPOTLIGHT:CURLY CHOPS DESIGN TEA FREAK. PAPER GEEK. Design with Curly Chops A true vintage girl at heart, Faye Neo has been adding her creative flare to beautifully designed wedding stationery since 2012 - after setting up her own studio ‘Curly Chops Design’. Faye loves nothing more than working alongside creative couples, where different is definitely better! From the cute and the quirky, to the modern and contemporary, Faye can work with you, as a couple, to create gorgeously unique stationery to suit your individual requirements. Curly Chops Design was blown-away when approached by Laura, the Editor of Dotty Magazine, to design the invitations for her forthcoming wedding. Here, Laura gives us a little insight behind her stationery: You know you’ve found a great designer when you can pass over the so-called ‘brief’ below, and the resulting wedding stationery literally makes your heart sing. “Hi Faye, I’d like to commission a little doodle of Karl and I for our wedding stationery. I think it would be super cute if we could make it personal to us; so it needs to include myself, Karl, our four cats, the house rabbit, represent how much we love each other, our wedding date and all the information, as well as representing the theme of our wedding, which is sort of nautical meets boho, including Karl’s love of fishing. Oh, and all with a rustic, vintage vibe. Is that doable?” Having worked with Faye, of Curly Chops Design, on the last four issues of Dotty Magazine, I knew that she would be more the capable of delving into my little wedding muddled brain, and plucking out the required snippets of logic to create a truly beautiful stationery set. The reaction when our friends and family received our invites said it all – ‘unique’, ‘quirky’, ‘the best invites they’d ever seen’ – I could go on, but as a Dotty reader, I’m sure you can already appreciate the extraordinary design talent that Faye possesses. I think it’s incredibly important that your wedding stationery is personal to you, and I know that we’ll be able to keep our bespoke illustration as a lovely little reminder of our wedding in years to come.” Image: balancephotography.co.uk Love, Laura aka ‘Dotty’! www.dottyvintageweddings.co.uk 28 Issue 5
