With nothing to hide, Philip Johnson ' s Glass House shows there is more to a house than a roof and four walls.

The house was completed in 1949; the Glass House is an icon of modern architecture.

It is made of one large room, the 54-foot long, 32-foot wide house includes a kitchen, dining room, living room, bedroom, hearth area and a bathroom, contained by a brick cylinder that along with a series of built-in, walnut storage cabinets, are the only markers of separation between the“ rooms.”

Regarded as the structure that brought International Style to residential America.
