Dear Readers , We are proud to present the second issue of Dorchester Magazine .
The Dorchester team would like to thank you for all your support and encouragement , which made this publication a success with its very first issue .
Since the beginning of “ The Arab Spring ” in late 2010 and the political turmoil that the Middle East nations have gone through , the Lebanese economy surprisingly witnessed a growth in 2012 . The Governor of Lebanon Central Bank Dr . Riad Salameh confirmed - in his interview with the Dorchester Magazine- that the banking sector has been the engine that is driving the Lebanese economy forward . As a result , the credibility of the economy has been enhanced within the international financial community .
In this issue , we will look at many facets of investments within the Gulf States and the international scene including Berlin , Africa and the Arab Spring countries . We will also shed a light on national investments such as the holly city of Makkah where there has been a dramatic upward movement in real estate prices exceeding 100 %. Moreover , we will outline the infrastructure projects in Jeddah , which has put the city on the international map of tourism .
Since Interior Design is one of our specialties , this issue contains an exclusive interview with the licensing director of Versace Home Mrs . Gabriella Saracino where she discusses the relationship between fashion design and interior design .
In the “ Happening in Town ” section , you will find a variety of home & office furniture , lighting and designs that have been showcased for the very first time during the International Furnishing Accessories Exhibition ' the Salone Internazionale del Mobile 2013 ', which took place at Fiera Milano Rho , on April 2013 . Such exhibition is considered as the world ’ s largest exhibition with more than 2,500 exhibitors , spread over 204,850 square meters , not to forget the annual traditional party that is held during the Salon period .
