information about Malcolm X, The Black Panthers, etc. by a gang member.

I used to go to school to be a veterinarian, but dropped out to pursue music

I have social phobia

I used to do volunteer work with children in order to harness their written artistic side.

What makes you more unique than other artists?

I was the kid who everyone thought was weird and got picked on until I eventually started spazzing out on people. Since I was the "black sheep" & always alone I wrote a lot of poetry & viewed the world as if I was outside looking in. I never was able to develop a society way of thinking, so no one else on this planet thinks the same way I do. This has given me the ability to see & express things from a different perspective that you won't hear from other artists.

Not only that, but my poetic expression makes it even more unique. I like to deliver a message and make people think when they listen to my music.

What's one trait about yourself that you don't like?

My difficulty with approaching and talking to people

Lupe Fiasco. I love his music. He always has a great message to deliver and that is what I am all about. I love how he is creative and puts meaning behind every word. I am into the artists that speak for/to the people in a positive way. The artists who want a positive change in this world. I feel like my style is closely related to his.

Who were some of your biggest influences that are in the same field you are in?

Tupac, Rakim, Common, Mos Def, Lupe Fiasco, Snoop Dogg, The Fugees, Canibus

Compare yourself to some one that is more established, who would that be and why?

Tupac. He is the closest artist to who I am mentally. While I don't really display the "thug" side I have let it out on some occasions.. I have listened to his speeches & watched videos about him as well as listened to his music. I have a similar revolutionary mindset and "Brenda's got a baby" fits the type of songs I make. I am also an emotional person similar to how he was.

What made you want to get into the business

At once point of my life I was suicidal. I didn't care about anything & felt like even if I succeeded at anything I would be miserable, because it wasn't what I wanted for my life. Once I got into music I fell in love with it. I didn't take it to the business side of things until I got sick & tired of how I was living. Tired of dealing with people's crap and having people try to talk to me in ways I didn't like. Tired of my job controlling my life. Tired of suffering & not having enough to pay the bills. I felt like I have spent my entire life being nice & trying to help people, but all I ever got in return was suffering. I made up my mind that I deserved better & would have better. I decided to use my talent to get me to the life I want to live.

What is the most difficult thing you have had to endure in life or in the industry

The most difficult thing for me was dealing with people who were harmful to me in some way. The negative people that made me feel down when around them. The ones who kept trying to break me & make me quit. The ones who tried to take advantage of me. The ones who wouldn't even give me a chance by listening to my music for the 1st time. As an artist people will put you through hell & it is so hard to get respect & appreciation for what you do before you become a well known artist.

Where are you from?

Baltimore, MD

What made you start doing what you do?

On New Years of 2005 I was visiting family on the West Coast. They did a new years spit every year & asked me to join in. I told them I didn't like music and would rather not. They told me if I did it just once they would never ask again. I spit a freestyle & fell in love with it.
