The Automobile Museum The Automobile Museum is located near the Railway Station and Tierno Galván Municipal Park, one of the most privileged natural areas in Don Benito. This museum, which arose from a private collection, houses in its facilities more than 70 classic vehicles since the beginning of the twentieth century to our days, among them copies dating from the years 1912-1913 as the “Ford Model T”. The Museum was inaugurated in 2014. Squares Visitors can see a variety of squares in the town. Among others, these include: Extremadura Square: its circular construction dating from 1980 has an area of 5,000 m2. It is located northwest of Don Benito. Open spaces are noted to promote participation in the life of the community. Its central fountain with a sculpture dedicated to the aguadora woman by Diego Garrido, is one more way to show a tribute to water and women in this area. Cíjara Square: it is the centre of one of the neighborhoods with the highest level of constructions in the town. It started to develop during the 80s, when the emigrants returned home. That is why the sculpture Monumento al Emigrante by Ricardo García is located in the centre of the square, with an area of 5,600 m2. Las Albercas Square: this square was recently created and it stands in a zone of ancient ponds and pools, hence its name. Its completion depends on the development of the General Urban Development Plan. Its modern design is in line with the young working population who lives there. It holds approximately 12,500m2.
