SPECTACLES
PANORAMA, 2007
Panorama, realized together with Benoît Lalloz and Martial Galfione, is a large curved
screen, a contemporary version of the 19th century panorama, presenting a luminously
nocturnal vision of great metropolises like Dakar, Paris, Moscow, Tehran, Hong Kong,
Shanghai, Yokohama, Los Angeles, Mexico and Rio de Janeiro. The composition
reveals a subjective cartography, and the lights are caught by the opposite wall that is
painted in glossy grey.

Collaboration with Benoît Lalloz and Martial Galfione
Large-scale curved light installation. Skylines of various urban centres abstracted into a program of flickering LED
lights. The curving shape refers to the 19th century panoramic tradition, a large-scale 360 degree picture, often of
landscapes or urban scenes, designed to dazzle audiences with immersive verisimilitude.
