DM: Where do you see yourselves and your business in the next 5 years?

JAZZ: In the next 5 years, we will be a well-known name in the sneaker community. You want to buy retro Jordan’s? Sneaker Motsy will be one of the first websites to come to mind. Competitive with all the big names in the business. Clothing. We will probably do a modest little clothing line. We may even decide to have a store front. That’s certainly a possibility in the next 5 years.

DM: What advice would you give people who are thinking about doing the same thing?

JAZZ: Prepare to be discouraged. People will waste your time. Some people out here will try to pass off fake shoes, fake money. It can be a real shady industry. Every deal you make may not be a come-up, you might have to take a loss. Some people may even get upset with you and try to slander your company’s name. So prepare to work hard, and prepare to persevere.

Uzo: When you decide to be a merchant, or invest in a business no matter how small; dedication, will and belief in yourself can be the difference between you spending money and time building up other people and their ideas, and building a dynasty for yourself and those who you want to share the spoils with. “Where there is a will, there is a way” as the old saying goes, has proven itself to be true with every step we have made in our journey that’s far from over.

DM: Now where can we check you guys out?

DM: Were there any road blocks or things you had to overcome in business and how did you handle it?

JAZZ: Yes there have been many. One of the biggest is capital. In this business, you kind of have to put in alot, just to get a little. So starting out, and honestly, even continuing is not easy. Also, our lives are busy. We are both full-time students and now full-time parents as well. We have both worked intermittently at other jobs, and Uzo is working now. So yeah, it has never been easy. But just keeping our eyes on the prize: being successful at something we started that involves our interests, it has really helped push us along.
