King Greedy
King Greedy, hails from the Southeast quadrant of Washington, DC in the Congress Heights neighborhood. Creating his brand in November of 2013, Greedy partnered with Big Slim Da Brawler, now known as Omerta Slim, and drafted in his friends Creep and Teeny Man. King Greedy's first project was released in 2007 under the stage name J Slumps and entitled "E. Pluribus Unum". This project featured Chris Bo, Southeast Goonie, Pam Da Ryda, Fresh from A.A.M.R, and Fat Dog C-BAN. As far as upcoming work, Greedy is working with Bangman Bigalowe and all members of #OGANG. In January, which the Omerta camp has named #OGANGUARY, there are several collaborations. Future releases are "Say No More" which is King Greedy and Omerta Slim & "Truth Be Told" Omerta Slim's solo project. Last but not least "Life of a King" Greedy's solo project. King Greedy has a lot of projects listed to come from himself and his camp for 2014 and beyond. A few projects include movies titled "The Youngins", "Brace Gods: The Movie", and "Z Boys" which will be a comedy. He wants his brand to open up all oportunities for the talent in the DMV. Since coming on the DMV music scene, King Greedy has remained steady in releasing good quality music that people in the culture can relate to. He wants to change the outlook of life for everyone involved and the very neighborhoods that he grew up in. When asked what his goals are, his reply was, "No deadbeat dads. Better life for those who are willing to grind. People to remain solid individuals". Lastly, King Greedy wants to change the format of music and help others find their "sound", "not the sound that people try to give artists in music and life".
OMERTA SLIM
Big Slim The Brawler (Bernie Hargrove) fell in love with music when he was forced to listen to his dad play "New Edition: NE HEARTBREAK" continuously. Everytime Bernie heard it, he could hear and feel the art of the song. He also had a praying grandmother who would often take him to choir practice where she played the bass guitar. The combination of those experiences provided a foundation for a young Slim to construct a love for performing, while learning to play instruments. Before long, Bernie’s ear for music allowed him to recreate whatever he was hearing. Slim recognized at the tender age of 4 that music would be the vehicle which would allow him to express himself, no matter what he was feeling. In the 5th grade, Bernie learned that the school he was attending, Malcolm X Elementary School in Southeast Washington, DC, was going to have a talent show. This was to be his first opportunity to perform in front of a live audience. Although nervous, Big Slim was determined to win, and win he did! Slim stated that he was so full of jubilation, he knew deep within himself that music was what he was going to do when he grew up. At the age of 14, he began writing and recording music. Although the streets were beckoning him, music became his distraction from joining the gangs and going "buck wild". It was especially important because of the crack epidemic that was taking over the city of D.C at that time. Defeating most of the obstacles of the streets of D.C., Bernie fell in love with his music and he created the persona of "Big Slim The Brawler". As Bernie begins to develop his artistic skills, he later joins a local band called "Pure Elegance". While with them, Pure Elegance recorded and released their first and only LP. The LP went on to sell over 250,000 copies of the hit, "Put Ya One Leg Up". From that moment, it was the birth and creation of Big Slim The Brawler. In 2009, Slim teamed up with the legendary Grammy Award winning, Sugar Bear & EU, who had the classic single off their “Do The Right Thing” soundtrack “Doing the Butt”. In 2013, he connected with a friend, King Greedy, and changed his name to "Omerta Slim". Now under the label of Omerta Gang/Greedy Life Ent, Slim is set to release a solo project entitled "Truth Be Told", which features all members of #OGANG. He can also be heard on a collaboration album with King Greedy titled "Say No More" and again on "OGANG Nation Compilation" releasing in early 2014. Omerta Slim has been a constant performer with various artists in and around the DMV and continues to do so while promoting his solo projects.
TEENY MAN
Thomas (Big Teeny AKA O-Boy The Greedy Son) Williams was born on May 4th in Southeast Washington, D.C. Teeny is the oldest of two boys and the third child of four. He was raised by his mother and no father which made living tough. So Teeny took matters into his own hands and started running in the streets to make it in a city that play for keeps. At the age of 14, he started selling drugs to survive. He also started listening to hip-hop and rap music. At this point music became his life.
