Harvesting

This beech wood is harvested as a young tree growing up to 5 feet tall . Once it attains maturity , it is cut down and sold as young branches , known as pines . Its natural color is a golden honey color that fades over time to a grayish color . Some of these pines are so weak that they need to be topped up with a special coating to assure strength and durability .
