Photography Guidelines
T
he following guidelines will help you create
professional-quality, high-resolution images
that will increase readers’ interest in your
story and present you and your professional
life with the proper respect. Your assistance is greatly
appreciated.
• You are strongly encouraged to contract the services of a professional photographer. Only a professional has the training, experience and equipment to present you as the professional you are.
• Share these guidelines with the photographer,
so he or she is able to plan the shoot, efficiently,
since you will probably be paying an hourly rate.
• You may want to create an expanded list of photos
you would like for other uses. Even if you must
pay for additional time, it is still more efficient to
have the photographer shoot extra images during
one visit to your school.
• Submitted photos should include individual professional portraits of the school owner and staff
members. These images should be shot in a photographer’s studio with an appropriate backdrop
or in a clean, clutter-free location at your school.
• Other submitted photos could include classroom
activities, your pro shop, spectator area and other
views of your school that may be unique or special. The magazine’s readership is composed of
professional and part-time school owners who are
very interested in seeing the school layout of a
successful owner.
