Promoting prison-based rehabilitation programmes and post-release services to foster prisoners ' social reintegration
Imprisonment should not be limited to the deprivation of liberty . It should include opportunities to assist prisoners in their successful reintegration . UNODC ’ s support in developing education , vocational training and work in prisons programmes has contributed to # ANewChance . This event provides an overview of activities and successes achieved , and a space to discuss practices and recommendations to better support Member States .
