Thinking back about the World Agility Open. Which was one of the most beautiful moments at the WAO 2012?
There were many memorable moments during the championships. Standing on the podium and hearing the national anthem is always special and to do that three times last year was a great achievement.
It is always a pleasure to see handlers and dogs achieve success however small – to overcome nerves; to bounce back after a bad run and achieve great places. The atmosphere within the England team is what makes the whole experience enjoyable and makes me want to come back for more!
What do you think of the 2012 event: about the organization, hospitality, atmosphere...
As in 2011, the organisation was fantastic. I know in Belgium, they had to overcome some issues with volunteers letting them down, so they were short on man power. But that is what is great about agility competitors – everyone pitched in and still made the championships a success.
What advice would give to someone participating in their first competition?
Enjoy the experience! You never know, this could be your one chance to represent your country, so make the most of it.
